PA Sangma International Medical College & Hospital (PIMC), approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi, for an annual intake of 150 MBBS students, is located at 9th Mile, Baridua, Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya, on the Assam-Meghalaya border, adjacent to Dispur-Guwahati, the capital of Assam. The college campus offers a unique blend of scenic landscapes and modern infrastructure, nestled amidst mountainous terrain enriched with medicinal plants and herbs, providing a serene and conducive environment for learning and healing. PIMC is a constituent college of the University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) — a NAAC “A” Grade accredited university and ranked among the top 200 universities in India by the NIRF, Govt of India. In response to the growing demand for medical professionals and advanced healthcare facilities in Meghalaya, USTM has established PIMC to address these regional needs and uplift healthcare standards.
The Teaching Hospital has a capacity of 605 beds, inclusive of general beds, ICUs, HDUs, and other specialized units, equipped with modern medical infrastructure. PIMC has already started its Rural & Urban Healthcare Shuttles with an aim to provide pre & post hospital transportation for patients sand their attendants ensuring better access to medical facilities for both rural & urban areas.

Plans are underway to introduce PG (MD/MS) and Super-speciality (DM/M.Ch.) courses once the Super-speciality Block is fully operational.
With a vision to bridge the healthcare gap in Meghalaya and transform the state into a global hub for medical education, healthcare, and research, PIMC is developing a world-class 1100-bedded Super-Speciality Hospital, including the 605-bedded Teaching Hospital.
